This shows the average pounds of penaeid shrimp landings off the coast of Georgia by area and type (federal or state water) for 2006 - 2010. Species and gears (trawl and castnet) were combined to avoid confidentiality issues.
This GIS dataset was created for purpose of describing shrimp landings for the state of Georgia so that these data can be considered with respect to other data on coastal resources and activities.

Shrimp landings were averages over five years (2006 -2010) by distance/type (federal or state waters) and area. Species and gears (trawl and castnet) were combined to deal with confidentiality issues.

Area were hand digitized from scanned historical nautical charts. Areas were divided into inshore, state, and federal, although for the purposes of this project, only state and federal waters were included.
